Antaviana VFX renews its collaboration with the Locarno Film Festival with the debut of Spanish Previews
Antaviana VFX & Postproduction has renewed its collaboration with the Locarno Film Festival, presenting Spanish Previews: a session dedicated to five Spanish projects in post-production, selected to be showcased to the global industry. The presentation took place on Sunday, August 10, as part of Locarno Pro, the festival’s industry section, which has consolidated itself as one of the most renowned international film events.

Spanish Previews, a new stage for Spanish talent
For the first time, Spanish Previews opens to Spanish cinema with the support of ICEX and ICAA, who pre-selected five WIPs between late May and late June. This platform provides a key international stage for projects to gain visibility beyond Spain, connect with programmers, sales agents and distributors, and access real opportunities for circulation in new markets and festivals.
According to ICEX sources and as reported by Rebolledo (2025), the 2024 experience already demonstrated the impact of such initiatives: projects that participated in Locarno Pro First Look later secured presence at festivals such as IndieLisboa or even commercial releases in theaters. Spanish Previews seeks to follow this path and establish itself as a gateway to the international circuit for new voices in Spanish cinema.
“Having international spaces like Spanish Previews is essential to give visibility to Spanish cinema and connect it with the global industry. At Antaviana, we are pleased to contribute by offering real post-production resources that help projects take the leap into new markets.” María Vazquez, Account Manager Digital Cinema at Antaviana VFX & Postproduction
The Antaviana Spanish Previews Award
As part of the alliance with Locarno Pro, Antaviana promotes the Antaviana Spanish Previews Award, a prize valued at €10,000 in post-production services: editing suites, color grading, sound mixing and final deliveries. In this first edition, the award went to Lóngquán: The Dragon Spring, directed by Adrià Guxens and produced by Pausa Dramática Films with the co-production of La Charito Films, which will receive this technical support to complete its post-production phase.
