The Academy of Hollywood visits Antaviana to explore the application of ACES color architecture

Recently, at Antaviana, we had the honor of welcoming Steve Tobenkin and Alex Forsythe, representatives of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, to witness firsthand the implementation of their ACES color architecture in our workflow. This visit reaffirms our commitment to innovation and technical excellence in the audiovisual world.

ACES: An essential tool for color

ACES (Academy Color Encoding System) is a color management system developed by the Academy to establish a standard that ensures color consistency from shooting to final distribution. In our studio, ACES has become a fundamental tool for ensuring that each project maintains its visual impact from start to finish. ACES allows creators to capture and preserve artistic vision with uniform color quality, regardless of the devices or platforms used throughout the production and post-production process. This ability to unify color makes it an essential tool for the film and audiovisual industry.

During the visit, Tobenkin and Forsythe were able to analyze and discuss the practical application of ACES in our color and VFX pipeline, especially with the SGO Mistika platform, which provides us with the necessary flexibility to make the most of this architecture. The session was an opportunity to delve into the practical use of ACES and assess how to further improve its implementation.

A collaboration that strengthens

After an interesting morning of discussion, we agreed to strengthen the collaboration between Antaviana and the Academy of Hollywood, with the aim of applying ACES more effectively in film and series projects. This commitment allows us to stay at the forefront of the industry, offering our clients the best technical solutions available.

Looking to the future

At Antaviana, we feel privileged to be part of this global community of creators and studios exploring new paths in audiovisual storytelling. The visit from the Academy of Hollywood is a testament to what we can achieve when we join forces to elevate the quality of our work and contribute to a bright future for the industry.
